AIRCRAFT INSTRUMENT AND RADIO BECOMES AIRCO GROUP

AIRCO GROUP ACHIEVES ISO CERTIFICATION

Wichita, Kansas - Aircraft Instrument & Radio Company, Inc., a division of AIRCO Group, has announced their achievement of ISO 9001-2000 Certification. The company was assessed by CRS Registrars, Inc., which is accredited through the National Accreditation Program for Registrars, administered by ANSI and the Registration Accreditation Board. CRS Registrars verified that AIRCO’s policies and work procedures, in reference to supply, distribution, exchange, consignment and repair management of aircraft parts, meets the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization. Aircraft Instrument and Radio Co., Inc., was thereby awarded the dual certifications of SAE AS9100:2001 and ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2000.

“This is just another way that AIRCO Group can emphasize our commitment to offering the highest quality standards to our customers,” said Randy Landis, Quality Assurance Manager for AIRCO Group. “These certifications do not mark the end of a process with certification, but will serve as a means to continue to develop and enhance our internal processes and programs. Our attention to customer satisfaction is in the forefront of everything we do.”

The International Organization for Standardization guidelines have been implemented by approximately 610,000 organizations in 160 countries. This set of standards has become an international reference for quality management system requirements in nearly every business industry. The standards focus on the processes of a company, not its actual products or services, in order to fulfill the customer’s requirements and applicable regulatory requirements. At the same time customer service is improved for continual enhancement of the company’s performance in pursuit of these objectives.

“While ISO certification is prevalent in Europe,” said Landis, “AIRCO Group recognizes the importance of American companies adhering to these guidelines and felt that there was no better time than the present to complete the registration process. It totally supports our commitment to serving the aviation industry on an international level.” Through this, AIRCO adopted the following policy:

“AIRCO Group will consistently provide products and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customers. We will actively pursue ever-improving quality through programs and processes that enable each employee to do their job right the first time and every time.”

AIRCO Group offers the sale and service of aircraft avionics, instruments, rotable equipment and accessories. All services provided support civilian and military transport aircraft, regional and business jets and turboprop aircraft.
